In my own opinion, Sundays are made to being fully enjoyed. I like to relax on normal Sundays and I try to make the most out of it. Since I moved out, I find myself really enjoying talking long walk and going to the market. As a kid, I never went to the market. We used to live near a normal grocery store and would go there once a week for grocery shopping. Also, this summery weather still going in September makes me super happy (it is quite too hot, though), but I try to go outside as much as I can.
So last Sunday, here’s what I did.
I woke up around 9:30am, which is super late for me, considering I wake up around 5:30-6:00 all day (cause yes, I am an early bird). After waking up, I like to chill in bed and scroll on Instagram, Twitter, Facebook and Snapchat, in that order. As soon as feel waken up, I will get ready super slowly. Long shower, skin care routine, comfortable outfit, orange juice, comfy shoes and my purse and out the door! The first thing I think about when I woke up would be coffee. So on my way to the market, I like to try a new independent coffee shop. I walk with the cup in my hand, and make my way to Jean Talon Market.
I try to go early in the morning. In the afternoon, it gets crowded, specially on weekends. There is something about this market that makes me super happy. It is a very family-friendly place and everyone is so genuine there. People make you try their fresh food, they say hi, they smile at you, they let you take photos of their fresh veggies. I just love it. So yeah, I start by walking around and look at what deals those people have. I want to get the freshest fruits and vegetables and then I make a decision on where I plan to buy them. I also always buy some fresh flowers!
Going there makes me super happy and it is a great starter for a nice Sunday. After that, I usually walk back home, put the flowers in a pot and put the fruits and veggies in the fridge. I would usually get out for brunch with friends in early afternoon, and spend the rest of the day outside enjoying the nice weather. I will often go back home around 5-6pm, and do a face mask, prepare lunches for the week and watch a tv show on Netflix (currently binge watching Jane The Virgin, I love it!).
Also, if you don’t often go to Marché Jean-Talon, I would suggest you go grab a coffee at Café St-Henri. It is this small coffee shop in the Market and it’s so cute. Their lattés and hot chocolate are out of this world. In early October, you can also buy really cheap pumpkins. I always go there to buy pumpkins and carve them. Probably one of my fave fall activity. As I am talking about fall, I have to remind myself that it is still 30 degrees+ outside, hehe.
Don’t forget guys: make the most out of everyday! xo
